Does your baby have her head tilted to one side?
A preference for tilting the head to one side (and having a head preference to turn to the opposite side) , may be an indication of torticollis, a common condition in which a specific neck muscle tightens. Torticollis and plagiocephaly often present together, but both conditions can exist independently.
Do you have concerns about your baby’s head shape?
If your baby’s head appears to be flat on one side or misshapen, your baby may have plagiocephaly, or flat head syndrome .
Is your baby’s head always turned to the same side?
If your baby favors facing a particular side, she may develop plagiocephaly due to the prolonged pressure on her skull. Simple adjustments in your baby’s position and attracting your baby’s attention from alternate sides is key.
